Your dog should be standing.  We suggest a cloth measuring tape for more accurate measuring, or use a string or ribbon and lay it on a Ruler or Yard Stick.

GIRTH: Start on the back measure around the chest behind the front legs and back to the beginning.  LENGTH: Neck to Rump, do not include the tail.  The chest is the most important measurement then the length, if your dog is in between sizes, we suggest you go up a size. The age of your dog is important also, if they are still growing, include that in your size decision. Don’t forget the back rub!
