The BlackDog Training Halter is extremely effective at stopping a dog pulling while on a lead and to calm a boisterous or insecure dog. This classic style halter connects to the lead under the dog’s jaw has been the Halter of choice for trainers over many years.

The dynamic design allows the Halter to move as the dog moves, leaving the Nose Bridge strap to sit comfortably in the same position, this means it doesn’t tend to ride up close to the dog’s eyes and the dog is more content while wearing the Halter.

Pressure across the bridge of the dog’s nose harks back to the way adult dogs settle and this pressure helps to control the head and assists to calm and control the dog in general. The BlackDog Training Halter design even fits and works well on short nosed breeds.

Comfort and Security – The choice of materials, combined with the halters design, means the BlackDog Training Halter is comfortable for the dog to wear and will not rub. If a dog does attempt to pull out of the halter, the Neck Strap and Nose Bridge will tighten around the dog’s face, giving a mild aversion to this activity.

Measuring your dog for a Training Halter

You could guess the size, but it would be like buying an outfit without even trying it on, so here is info on how to get the best fit for your dog. 

The Noseband and Cords on the Training Halter allow for a adjustment, so we base the sizing on a dog’s neck measurement

Use a soft tape measure place it around your dog’s neck up close behind the ears, this is where the neck strap should fit and take a snug to tight neck measurement.

Important: If your dog fits between 2 sizes, generally select the smaller size.

UNLESS you are fitting a growing dog in which case you should go for the larger size to allow for future growth.

 Check your dog’s neck measurement against the ORANGE chart below, to select the appropriate size for your Training Halter.

**Please keep a close eye on your dog and supervise whenever wearing the halter as the cord is close to the teeth and can be chewed through.

***NEVER use the Halter attached to the O-ring WITHOUT the noseband being around the dogs nose.

This will cause extra stress on the cord sewn into the collar strap & pressure on the O-ring.
